The other woman in my life was not what you might expect. It was my mother. She had been a widow for nineteen years, and with the weight of life I had neglected to spend any time with her.
That evening I gave her a call and invited her out for a movie and dinner night.
The first thing she asked was, ”Is everything okay? Are you healthy?” She is the type of woman that would always suspect bad news at the first port of call.
I responded and said, “I thought it would be nice to spend some time with you. Just the two of us to make a change”.
After thinking carefully for a second she said. “I would absolutely adore that.”
